Beautifully handwoven cross bag ‘Petra’ by Um Abdu Rahman, in red contrasted with blue and green which captures the landscape of World Heritage site Petra. The design of this cross bag is based on traditional Bedouin weaving craft. The woven fabrics supported the nomadic lifestyle of Bedouin tribes. Tents were crafted from the woven fabrics which offered protection from the harsh conditions of the desert. This cross bag is handwoven on the ground loom and handcrafted into a contemporary design. The result is a one-of-a-kind quality piece produced by Bedouin women in rural and desert areas in Jordan. A bag design impacting Bedouin lives.
At LUMEYO our goal is to revive Bedouin weaving craft and empower these women by supporting them to create their own livelihood. At the same time, it is essential to us that our products are produced in a sustainable fashion. Our products are therefore created from recycled secondhand sweaters. Thus, with this bag you; contribute to the empowerment of Bedouin women, inspire youth to learn a craft and are doing something good for the planet, all the while looking fabulous.
Additionally, this cross bag is a unique fashionable statement piece and is incredibly versatile. The bag is big enough to fit all the essential things you want to take with you on your adventures abroad or in your hometown. The red in combination with the blue and green creates a colorful expressive pattern. Let yourself be inspired by the pattern on this tote and be creative with your outfits.
